Corneria was a peaceful planet, inhabited by peaceful people. Among these people was a brilliant scientist named Andross. He had had pure intentions, and lived for researching bio-technology and reaserching life on other planets. Thanks to him, Corneria had created many bases and fleets on other planets and sectors. They had almost every other planet, except a planet called Venom.
There was Acid Rain in its atmoshphere that prevented entry, which made Andross frustrated. He worked days and weeks to create a bio-technological machine which he called Goras to penetrate the Acid Rain and allow entry. General Pepper did not allow this, however, in fear that it could harm other planets or make things on Venom worse, which made Andross even more mad.
His lust for planet research and use of bio-expiriments drove him mad and he went insane. He unleashed Goras upon Corneria, which malfunctioned due to being in water at one point, and exploded causing bigger cities to be majorly damaged. General Pepper captured him and his weapon, which was sent out to space. Andross himself was banished for treason and exiled to Venom.
Due to the fact that it was impossible to enter Venom, Andross went to a close Planet known as Titania, which he did not know about. He discovered that Goras had crashed here, and rebuilt him from the parts of the ship he came on and used the fuel to make Goras able to fly into space. He went and found an old satellite there. He brought some parts of it to Titania and biult a mechanism that would neutrilize the Acid Rain and allow him to enter.
He went there, and discovered that there is life on Venom, the Anglar race, which consisted of Lizards. Since Andross was the smartest of the people on Venom, he took control and started building an Army. Some of andross' old buddies on Corneria were also exiled to Venom for crimes against Corneria, and Andross used this to his advantage and got the help of the other apes to build the Satellite outside Venom up, naming it Bolse. He also started to build a defense fleet outside Venom as well. Andross then went on to create an army for 5 years.
General Pepper noticed strange activity coming from Venom, so he sent the Star Fox team to investigate, which consisted of James McCloud, Pigma Dengar, and Peppy Hare. They first went through what was thought to be Venom's own Sun, Macbeth. This was filled with nothing but Magma, with some machine stuff. Here, Andross kept him bio-weapon Vulcain 1.0 beta for later expirimentaion. James deactivated this machine and went on to Venom.
When they arrived on Venom, Pigma shot down James and Peppy, and turned them over to Andross for good money. Peppy's cleverness helped him barely escape, but James met with an unfotunate fate. Peppy returned to tell General Pepper and James' son Fox McCloud about his death.
